This is a small restaurant of maybe 20 tables so there may be a wait. They have delicious mexican food. My daughter and I will just get tacos, my husband LOVES their Chili Rellanos and we get a half rotisserie chicken for the table. Free soup with each meal. Chips and Salsa are good. Service is super slow and not particularly super friendly but ok. However the food and prices keep us going back often regardless of the 45 minute drive there.

Cemitas. Done. But foreal, the cemitas here are reeeaaaal good. Always get take out so I really don't know about the service but they seem nice. The building itself looks like it's seen better days and the interior pretty simple. Not much else to say but this place's food does speak for itself. It's customers seem to be mostly Hispanics which just make it more legit, granted it's in a mostly Hispanic neighborhood I guess that shouldn't really count. Nonetheless, good by me!

This is the local place for Hispanics here. They know what they are doing. It's authentic and really good. Don't focus on perfect service or friendliness. Most of their clientele are Hispanic who want good food and good prices, that's what they deliver. I've tried almost everything on menu. It's all great except the beef soup and huevos rancheros which is oddly sweet tasting. Everything else is very good. Try perhaps the roasted chicken dinner for great value/quantity or for taste- anything with Lomo en chile de arbol.

We have been Round Lake residents for several years and although the Hispanic population is relevant we have found the local Mexican cuisine to be so so . Then we met Lomeli's! Great authentic food and the best value in the area. The restaurant is quant but clean. One look around and you will find the melting pot of America is in full view. Large Mexican families fill pushed together tables, while suburbanites with great Mexican food on their minds occupy booths in anticipation of a great meal. I've seen the service questioned in some reviews here and admittedly it is not five star, white napkin elegance, but the servers run hard and if one waitress gets a large group another is filling her void. The food is worth the wait. Tacos done homemade style and genuine pulled chicken graces every Pollo dish. Sauces are authentic and the Margaritas are addictive. We've traveled Mexico for years and Lomeli's could compete on a small street in Cabo excellent food without getting dressed up and easy in the wallet.......be a little patient when you go but the food forgives all service sins!

The food here is superb! You start out with the standard chips and salsa, but also there is a complimentary cup of soup. All of this comes shortly after you are seated. We ordered a 1/2 rotisserie chicken and a burrito suizo (pictured). The meals come with tortillas, rice, lettuce and refried beans. Your eyes will light up when it comes as the portions are very generous. There is a full bar for those that wish to indulge with their meals. We had a slight problem with the service, but they explained it to us and took responsibility and made things right.

If you like authentic Mexican food this is the place to go. The food is very good along with the margaritas! Also, you can't beat the great prices! True it is not anything fancy and service can be slow, but the food is well worth it.

Good authentic Mexican food. Personally I think Rancho Nuevo is a good step above this in food quality.

Great chicken. But for Mexican food there are slightly better choices in the area.

Decent food, hilariously bad service. At first they were rushing us because they were closing soon, going so far as to demand our orders before we even sat down -- but then they just stopped coming around. A cocktail order never showed up (but they didn't charge us for it either so at least we didn't have to dispute the bill). The waitress was literally watching over my shoulder as I'm filling out the tip section on the credit card slip... just a weird experience.

Holy sheet, this place is good. We just moved to the area a few days ago, so we looked on yelp on our phones for what mexican restaurant to go to, Lomeli's was the closest and had decent ratings so that's where we went. It looks kind of run down from the outside, but the inside was packed so I figured it had to be good. I ordered a skirt steak burrito and chicken quesadilla and my boyfriend ordered a couple of tacos. We were brought out chips and salsa right away, the chips are a little bit thicker than what we were used to, but they were good, nice and crisp. The salsa has a creeper heat, just warning you now, haha. The complimentary bowl of soup was a nice surprise, I liked it a lot. It tastes like a minestrone soup, but there are chunks of chicken in it. Next time I go, I need to get some of that to bring home. When we were served our entrees, I must say I was not impressed with the look of my quesadilla. It looked really bland, just chicken and cheese, I thought I was going to hate it, i am not a fan of bland stuff. It completely blew me away, it was so flavorful, and the chicken was so tender. It was the best chicken quesadilla I have ever had. My boyfriend hates quesadillas, but I made him try it anyway. He loved it, he couldn't believe how good it was, and it looks so simple. The burrito was good, I loved the fresh avocado in it, although the skirt steak was a little on the salty side, but if you got some more of the other ingredients in a bite it was really balanced. I'm not a taco person, so I was iffy on the tacos, but my boyfriend liked them a lot. The best part is that even though both of us were drinking beer too, it was only 30 bucks for dinner! Cheap and delicious!? This place rocks my face off. Everything reheated really well too, not all of our kitchen stuff is over to the new place yet, so we ordered extra food so we'd have dinner for the next night. Thank you Yelp for yet again helping us find a kick ass place to eat :)

3 words: Tres Leche Cake. Yes, the burritos are good. Yes, it's a fun place to go on a busy weekend. yes, the waitresses are fantastic. But it's the Tres Leche that blew me away. Soggy. Luscious. A sensual dream....OUT OF SIGHT! And, dude, I know it's so small and insignificant but the Maraschino cherries on top instead of strawberry really make the difference. I know, call me a freak: you'd be right! But that still doesn't change how good this cake is.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
